no, not the city.
i just got back from upstate new york for the holidays- ithaca to be exact. it was a nice break from the city, and i actually saw the stars for the first time in a long while. there wasn't much snow unfortunately, but it was still icy and crisp, despite being overcast the majority of the time.
as far as presents go, i didn't get anything too spectacular. which is fine, because i got my fair share of cookies. but i did finally get my hobbit fold over boots from urban outfitters and a subscription to nylon magazine. bee, on the other hand, got some amazing stuff, but i'll leave that for her to talk about.
one surprise present we all got was, get this, a DOG. we went to the SPCA shelter up there on the 26th, wanting to just see the animals(it's a no-kill shelter, where most of the animals have their own rooms and you can just go in and pet them). but, of course, my mom, yo, and i fell for one dog in particular even though we had no intentions of getting one. brady. a pit-mix who got lost on his way home. despite being part pit-bull, he's probably one of the friendliest dogs i've known. calm and gentle too, even though he does get excited sometimes. i'm happy about it, but we'll just have to see how it all works out.

okay, so picture time. :D my aunt(who we stayed with) also had quite a lot of birds. i guess loving animals (maybe too many sometimes) just runs in the family.
